Five in a Row  Volume 1 and 2 by Jane Claire Lambert    Grades K-2
Excite the inquisitive learner and foster their appreciation for excellent children’s literature.  Explore new places, people, animals, and experiences with your child. This course will enrich vocabulary and critical thinking skills and bring books to life while working in many subject areas.  This curriculum need only be supplemented with math and phonics (if you choose).

FIAR invites you and your child to be a part of the story and share in the adventures by being an active participant and observer. Your child will be empowered to be an active thinker, investigator, researcher, story-teller, scientist, historian, artist and lover of stories!

“By skillfully peeling back layer after layer of a FIAR story, we allow children to taste a rich and varied educational diet. -Steve Lambert

I will be introducing one book per week in class, and then you will enjoy a daily reading of the book at home.  Each day we will focus on a different subject area that will allow you to do science, social studies, language arts, geography, art, Bible and cooking activities that correlate with the book.  Class will consist of many hands on and interactive activities that overflow into activities for multi-levels at home. This curriculum will surround your child with award winning literature and foster in them a life long love of learning and books.

“Experience shows us that the most important educational lesson we can teach early learners is to fall in love with learning itself.”  Lambert

****Book list will be provided. Parents will need to have weekly book for daily reading at home.  Most can be obtained from the library or inexpensively from Amazon or Thrift books.
