THIS IS A PREP CLASS FOR STUDENTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO COMPETE AS PART OF THE ROBOTICS TEAM IN THE FUTURE . STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS WILL NOT BE COMPETING IN EVENTS BUT WILL BE LEARNING SIMILAR SKILLS AND USING THE SAME EQUIPMENT.
VEX/IQ Robotics is an international system of robotics and coding equipment, teams and competitions that encourages teamwork, problem solving and creative critical thinking. Visit VEX Robotics for more information on the robotics system and the competition program.
Skills learned include physics concepts (gear ratio, center of gravity, force, torque, etc.), engineering design concepts (design cycle, structural integrity, etc.), strategy (problem solving, prioritization), teamwork and cooperation, organization (engineering notebooks), and coding. Plus - it's just flat out fun.
$90 a month pays for one 60 minute practice per week during the month.
Students are auto-enrolled in the next month between Aug and May. Parents/sponsors may remove their students from the team at any time by contacting Jeff or Allen - prorated refunds for unused portions of the month's available sessions will be processed if advance notice is given. Refunds or credits are not issued for missed practices.
