Competition Robotics Weekly Practice

IMG_7252

THIS IS A ROBOTICS TEAM PRACTICE CLASS.  ALL REGISTRANTS ARE JOINING THE NAPA STEM ACADEMY ROBOTICS TEAM AND ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE AT LEAST ONE PRACTICE EACH WEEK.

VEX/IQ Robotics is an international system of robotics and coding equipment, teams and competitions that encourages teamwork, problem solving and creative critical thinking.  Visit VEX Robotics for more information on the robotics system and the competition program.

Skills learned include physics concepts (gear ratio, center of gravity, force, torque, etc.), engineering design concepts (design cycle, structural integrity, etc.), strategy (problem solving, prioritization), teamwork and cooperation, organization (engineering notebooks), and coding.  Plus - it's just flat out fun.

We will be standing up teams of 3 to 6 students to practice and compete!  $120 a month pays for all registration (in the league and the events), team equipment, space rental, and two 60 practices per week.

Once students join the team, they are expected to attend at least one practice each week.  They may attend as many as two practices per week.  Students are auto-enrolled in the next month between Aug and May.  Parents/sponsors may remove their students from the team at any time by contacting Jeff - prorated refunds for unused portions of the month's available sessions will be processed if advance notice is given.  Refunds or credits are not issued for missed practices.
