Prerequisites: Children must be able to swim at least half way across the pool with independent rollover breathing and proper kicks. They also must be comfortable retrieving rings from the bottom of the pool (4 ½ feet) without assistance.
Description: Children who are experienced in the water will practice swimming the full width of the pool with correct body position and streamline. They will gain the fine motor skills necessary to learn the Freestyle and backstroke. We find, if the strokes are introduced before this, it can hold children back in the future. They will learn to breathe independently for dolphin, and be introduced to whip kick which is the lower body portion to breaststroke.
