Water Safety Instructor Course- Blended Learning-
Instructor candidates learn how to teach water safety education, including the Basic Water Rescue course, the six levels of the Learn to Swim Program and also the Parent and Child Aquatics course. Approximately 8 additional hours of this class will be self study conducted via the internet outside of the below skill sessions.
o Students must be 16 years of age by the last day of class.
o Students must pass a pre-test on the first day of class. During the pre-test the student must demonstrate and be proficient in swimming 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke sidestroke and elementary backstroke and 15 yards of butterfly. The student must be able to tread water for 1 minute and float or scull on their back for 1 minute.
o Students should bring lunch, snacks, sunscreen and drinks daily.

*Fee includes a non-refundable $60 pre-test fee. $35 of the listed price will be paid directly to the paper American Red Cross and Water Safety Instructor Candidate Manual which can also be downloaded at no charge or purchased online through the American Red Cross (see below). A tablet or ipad is permitted for use during class.
