Tap/Ballet combo classes teach children everything they need to know to have a great beginning in dance. Tap is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one's tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. Combination classes will concentrate on Broadway tap; it is widely performed as a part of musical theater, while learning rhythmic timing. Ballet is a highly technical form of performance dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology. Ballet requires years of training to learn and master, and much practice to retain proficiency. Combination classes will focus on the spatial exploration and terminology through imagination activities and movement games. Required Shoes for Enrolled Students: Black Tap Shoes and Pink (Full-Soled) Ballet Shoes.
Sparklers Combo (2-3 years old) teaches the basics of both styles (tap and ballet) and includes some tumbling skills for additional coordination, balance and strength. The class is a structured 45 minute class, dividing it’s time between all three subjects. *Parents must stay within sight of the classroom. No experience needed.
How to Ensure a Successful Trial Class
1. Plan accordingly; Clothing: Tank Top and Leggings/Shorts are appropriate. Footwear: Sneakers with socks are suitable. Hair must be pulled back into a ponytail
2. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time to check in with the front desk and ensure classroom location. Being early is important because this allows time for children to interact with teachers before the instructional time. Please wait outside the classroom for instructors to call students inside.
3. Please do not step inside the classroom for any reason other than asked by the instructor. This can be very distracting for the other students. Refrain from waving, tapping on the glass or trying to get your child’s attention of any kind.
4. Speak with your child’s instructor after the dismissal of class. The instructor will be able to discuss their professional observations and discuss future attire requirements.
